James McDonald, CPA

James McDonald is a Financial Analyst with a strong foundation in both public accounting and industry finance. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Finance from McMaster University, and recently earned his CPA Australia designation.

James began his career in public accounting, where he gained experience across compilation, review, and audit engagements for a diverse range of organizations, including both for-profit and not-for-profit entities. He also prepared personal, corporate, and charity tax returns, developing a well-rounded understanding of financial reporting and compliance.

He later expanded his experience internationally, working in Australia as a Financial Accountant in the engineering sector. In this role, he focused on internal accounting processes and month-end reporting, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.

Outside of work, James enjoys attending live concerts and listening to music. He is also a dedicated volunteer, having spent over a decade as a water ski and wakeboard instructor at Pleasant Bay Children’s Camp.
