Rick Miller, CFA

With over 35 years of experience in finance, accounting, and treasury, Rick Miller brings a unique combination of banking expertise and senior financial leadership across a wide range of industries. His career is evenly divided between executive finance roles and commercial banking, equipping him with a 360-degree view of business finance and strategy.

During his 18 years in banking, Rick spent half that time focused on real estate lending. He worked closely on complex construction projects, guiding feasibility studies, negotiating legal and financing agreements, tracking costs, and overseeing development. He also served in the banks’ special loans group, supporting high-risk borrowers and gaining deep insight into financial turnaround and restructuring.

On the corporate side, Rick has held CFO and Treasurer roles with both private and publicly traded companies, including those in the energy, automotive services, and industrial sectors. His expertise spans financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, risk management, and leading multi-disciplinary finance teams. He has overseen major capital-intensive projects, including the financing and execution of industrial facilities, infrastructure builds, and large-scale drilling programs. He brings extensive experience in managing CAPEX, project delivery, and M&A transactions.

Rick also brings valuable not-for-profit experience, having led finance functions for organizations in international development and community services. He has provided strategic financial leadership, strengthened internal controls, and managed complex, multi-site budgeting while aligning operations with government funding and long-term sustainability goals.

He is highly skilled in debt and equity financing, international treasury operations, and building robust financial systems that meet the demands of public company reporting and regulatory compliance.

Based in Toronto, Rick serves clients throughout the GTA. Outside of work, he enjoys biking, skiing, and spending time at the cottage.
