Anna Herring, CPA
Anna Herring is a seasoned accounting professional with over a decade of experience supporting both not-for-profit organizations and private sector businesses. She is recognized for her strong organizational skills, sharp attention to detail, and a practical, results-focused approach to financial management.
In the not-for-profit sector, Anna has worked with community service providers and youth-focused organizations, where she provided interim financial leadership and long-term support. Her work in this space includes enhancing financial reporting systems, streamlining internal processes, implementing and updating policy frameworks, and supporting year-end transitions. She has successfully guided organizations through changes in fiscal year-end reporting, facilitated transitions between public accountants, and led the integration of complex, multi-entity financial records, demonstrating her ability to navigate sector-specific regulatory and operational requirements with ease.
In the private sector, Anna has contributed to finance and operations in manufacturing and distribution environments. She has improved cash flow through more effective collections processes, implemented financial and operational KPIs to increase executive visibility, and introduced Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax incentives, delivering meaningful cost savings.
Anna’s experience across both sectors gives her a unique ability to adapt best practices from one environment to another. She combines the accountability and structure often required in not-for-profits with the agility and performance focus of private enterprise, creating a well-rounded and effective financial perspective.
Earlier in her career, Anna managed financial reporting for multiple organizations in the facility management industry and partnered closely with operational and finance leaders to improve processes and reporting outcomes. She also served in leadership roles within the communications industry, overseeing financial operations across multiple locations and conducting executive-level analysis.
