Debbie Barrafato, CPA
Debbie Barrafato has close to 30 years experience as a finance professional. She began her career in public accounting where she gained experience with a variety of companies, municipalities and non-profit organizations. Her responsibilities ranged from corporate audits and project management, to financial accounting and tax, both corporate and personal.
For the past 20 years Debbie has been an executive for a software development company in Oakville. As the Executive Vice President and CFO, she was responsible for overseeing the finance, administration, human resources, professional services and sales teams. Debbie has a proven track record in financial and strategic planning, analyzing growth alternatives and process improvement initiatives. Part of her role was to define strategy, analyze the market and ensure sales and operation goals and objectives were aligned.
Debbie also has knowledge with M&As, working on both sides of the transaction. She has lead the due diligence team and negotiations through to the integration of the acquired company as well as been the lead contact for due diligence efforts of the acquiree.
Along with her breadth and range of experience in helping small businesses grow, Debbie is trained as a six sigma black belt in quality. She has facilitated and participated in numerous business process improvement teams. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant and graduated from McMaster University with an Honours BA in Commerce.
